  • Day 1 - 14-Aug-2022 :  Avignon - Crillon le Brave - Mazan 

  • Day 2 - 15-Aug-2022 :  Bédoin - Beaumes de Venise - Vacqueyras - Gigondas - Bédoin - Mazan 

  • Day 3 - 16-Aug-2022 :  Bédoin - Mont Ventoux - Sault - Gorges de la Nesque - Bédoin - Mazan 

  • Day 4 - 17-Aug-2022 :  Bédoin - Beaumes de Venise - Vacqueyras - Gigondas - Bédoin - Mazan 

  • Day 5 - 18-Aug-2022 :  Bédoin - Fontaine de Vaucluse - Senanque Abbey - Roussillon - Gordes - Cavaillon 

  • Day 6 - 19-Aug-2022 :  Gordes - Ménerbes - Oppède-le-Vieux - Gordes - Cavaillon 

  • Day 7 - 20-Aug-2022 :  Gordes - Fontaine de Vaucluse - Isle sur la sorgue - Gordes - Roussillon - Apt - Gordes - Cavaillon 

  • Day 8 - 21-Aug-2022 :  Gordes

Cycling will typically be a morning/early afternoon activity followed by CPD activities in the late afternoon/evening. However the format may be reversed on some days depending on weather conditions or other logistic issues.

THE RIDES

Sun 14th Aug: Arrival at Avignon train station where you will meet our guide who will transfer you to Crillon le Brave, at the foot of Mont Ventoux. Installation in your charming hotel, where you will have an orientation meeting upon arrival. Orientation & bike set-up will occur this evening. Our local guide (French native & English speaking) will bring your bicycles (if hired), road-books, GPS and touristic information. An expert of the region, you can ask him all the questions you have about your trip. T

 

Hotel: Night at Chateau de Mazan (5.5 miles from Bédoin).

Dinner: Dinner included at your hotel.

Mon 15th Aug: From Bedoin we loop to Beaume de Venise, Vacqueyras, Gigondas and back to Bedoin

A beautiful tour warm-up ride through the vineyards of Ventoux and Rhône valley. You will pass through the wine villages of Beaumes-de-Venise, Vacqueyras, Gigondas and the more famous Rhône wine villages in Upper-Vaucluse before returning to Bedoin.

 

Distances : 53 or 69 Km (33 or 44 mi) - the short version is only possible with a Hybrid bike

Elevation : 860 or 1037 m.

 

Hotel: Night at Chateau de Mazan (5.5 miles from Bédoin).

Dinner: Dinner included tonight.

Tues 16th Aug: Several great ride options again today. Take your pick, all of them are lovely country rides for you. Distance varies depending on your preferred route.

 

• Tour of Mont Ventoux (71 km / 44 mi) : This itinerary starts with a warm-up tour between the vineyards of Bedoin, followed by the challenging climb and descent of Mont Ventoux.

 

• Gorges de la Nesque & the lavender fields of Sault (76 km / 47 mi) : The second itinerary will take you through the Nesque River Canyon (Gorges de la Nesque) to the lavender plateaus and the village of Sault and back to Bedoin via la Gabelle. Then, as a cherry on the cake you can climb the Ventoux and join Bedoin through Sault and the Nesque River Canyon : an unforgettable experience (89 km / 55 mi).

 

Elevation : 980 m (Tour of Mont Ventoux) ,1500 m (Gorges de la Nesque) or 1980 m f( with climbing the Ventoux)

Wed 17th Aug:

From Bedoin LOOP to Beaume de Venise: 

A beautiful tour warm-up ride through the vineyards of Ventoux and Rhône valley. You will pass through the wine villages of Beaumes-de-Venise, Vacqueyras, Gigondas and the more famous Rhône wine villages in Upper-Vaucluse before returning to Bedoin.

 

Distances : 53 or 69 Km (33 or 44 mi) the short version is only possible with Hybrid bikes only.

Thurs 18th Aug: Ride from Bedoin to Gordes with an option to ride to Roussillon and back to Gordes. This itinerary will bring you through the village of Fontaine de Vaucluse before climbing to Gordes, your final destination. If you choose to go to Roussillon, you can discover the famous ochre colored soil that is mined and used in pigment to color homes locally and far away.

 

Distances : 50 or 69 Km (31 or 42 mi).

Elevation : 710 or 978 m.

 

Hotel: Night at Hotel Mercure Cavaillon*** - Cavaillon.

Dinner: Dinner included at your hotel.

FRi 19th Aug: A loop tour of Luberon natural park and the surrounding areas. A varied itinerary through vast forests with amazing viewpoints that will take you to a number of superb perched villages such as : Bonnieux, Lacoste and Ménerbes among others.

Distances : 50 Km (32 mi).

Elevation : 760 m.

Sat 19th Aug: From Gordes LOOP to Fontaine de Vaucluse: 

Loop to l'Isle sur la Sorgue & Fontaine de Vaucluse. Isle sur la Sorgue is a charming town located on the river Sorgue. Includes visit of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, village with a refreshing temperature due to the spring where the river Sorgue begins. This ride is best when done on a Sunday, because of the outside market and antique fair in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

 

Distance : 39 Km (24 mi).

Elevation : 520 m.

Alternatively from Gordes LOOP to Roussillon, the Ochre Hills in Roussillon and the town of Apt : A moderate ride through an area famous for its Ochre hills before going to Apt and Roussillon, the center of Ochre.

Distance : 45 or 67 Km (28 or 38 mi).

Elevation :650 or 950 m.

Your choice of road bike, E-bike or hybrid bike

 

Road: The Scott Road Bike Addict 20 or equivalent - featuring an ultra light carbon frame, carbon fork and compact geometry making this a responsive and comfortable bike. Includes saddlebag, toolkit, tyre levers, patch kit, spare tubes, hand pump, rear pannier, helmet, odometer, lock, souvenir water bottles. You can chose from flat or cage pedals or bring your own.

E-Bike: The Scott Sub Tour Electric-Ride 10 or equivalent - powered by a Bosch 400wh battery these are great touring bikes combining comfort with reliability and ease of travel.

Hybrid: The Scott Sub Sport 20 or equivalent - featuring a sporty trekking geometry that will suit trips of all distances. Equipped with a Shimano 27 speed transmission this bike will ready you for adventure.
